Lead: In a move to deepen regional scientific and innovation ties, the President of Urmia Science & Technology Park (Iran), accompanied by a delegation and in cooperation with the Technofest Institute of Technology (TITU), visited the Van Entrepreneurship & Growth Center (ESGAM). The visit concluded with the signing of a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding between Urmia Science & Technology Park (Iran), TITU, and ESGAM.

According to the Public Relations Office, representatives of TITU joined the delegation from Urmia Science & Technology Park (Iran) for a working session at ESGAM (Van, Türkiye). The parties reviewed ESGAM’s infrastructure and programs and discussed practical pathways to connect the innovation ecosystems of Iran and Türkiye. Key topics included knowledge exchange in acceleration and mentoring, co-designed skills training and internships for students and founders, market access for startups across the region, and the organization of joint networking and investment activities.
ESGAM presented its services in acceleration, co-working, mentor networks, and investor relations. In turn, TITU and Urmia Science & Technology Park (Iran) outlined available R&D and laboratory capacities, technology support mechanisms, and short, skills-oriented courses.
MoU Highlights:
- Establishment of a Joint Innovation Taskforce among Urmia Science & Technology Park (Iran), TITU, and ESGAM to draft a cooperation roadmap.
- Planning a joint Demo Day/Pitching event in Van to introduce startups to investors and industry partners.
- Co-developed bootcamps and short courses focused on tech entrepreneurship, business modeling, and market development.
- Soft-landing and dual-site incubation opportunities to facilitate team deployment on both sides of the border and support talent exchange.
The visit and MoU underscored the parties’ shared commitment to leveraging regional strengths and targeted support for early-stage companies. Implementation details will be finalized in forthcoming coordination meetings.
